Newton le Willows Youth Club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. Without the continued support of our volunteers the youth club would be forced to close as we require a minimum number of volunteers before we are allowed to open our doors.
We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team, and you will find that volunteering at the youth club is very rewarding. As well as taking part in the many activities that we offer (you may learn a new life skill), we are also able to offer certain courses that may even enhance your career prospect.
You do not need any previous experience, nor do you need any particular qualification, but working at a youth charity can do wonders for your CV! Why not contact us today and see what we are all about.
In order for this local youth facility to continue in the future new volunteers are urgently required for the following:
- Volunteer Management Committee members. These are responsible for raising the funds that keep the clubs and building running.
- Volunteer handyman / woman. We are seeking someone who can help carry out minor repairs and maintenance of the building. Duties would include things like painting, minor plumbing (replacing tap washers), and other such jobs. Can you spare a few hours per week? Would suit a retired person.
- Volunteer club leader and helpers. These are urgently needed for our Friday evening club. You will interact with young people, and ensure their safety whilst they are on club premises. You may be asked to run one or more activities with the Youth Club Members, help run the tuck shop, play games, or just be a set of eyes and ears ensuring members are playing safely and within the rules set out by the club.
- Occasional gardener. We are looking for an occasional gardener to help maintain our garden. If you have a few hours to spare once in while we are looking for help to keep on top of our weeding and lawn mowing. If interested please contact the Club.
NB. Some positions will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
